Ballet dancer Amy Harris wins the 2008 Telstra People's Choice Award

After a record breaking number of votes – over 72,000 - in the coveted 2008 Telstra People's Choice Award, Victorian-born Amy Harris has been named Australia's most popular young dancer.

25 year old Amy was thrilled to receive the award and the $5,000 cash prize, provided by Telstra, from Sarah Murdoch, Board Member of
The Australian Ballet and David Moffatt, Telstra Consumer Group
Managing Director.

Amy was born and raised in Ararat, Victoria before leaving home at the tender age of 15 to join The Australian Ballet School. She joined The Australian Ballet in 2002, has toured internationally with the company and has been noted for dancing with sass and self-assurance.
