Best known as Australia's country music capital, Tamworth welcomes over 50,000 visitors each January to the internationally acclaimed Tamworth Country Music Festival presented by Telstra.

The Tamworth Country Music Festival presented by Telstra is the largest country music festival in the southern hemisphere and attracts the 'who's who' of country music.

The extensive program offers more than 2,000 events held in over 130 venues around Tamworth in a huge 10-day celebration of country music.

Telstra's support extends across many aspects of the Festival from identifying and nurturing up and coming talent through the prestigious Telstra Road to Tamworth competition, to supporting specific events such as the popular Telstra Queen of country music competition.

Tamworth is the final stop in the Telstra Road to Tamworth competition, a journey to unearth Australia's new generation of country music talent. 14 finalists will vie for the ultimate prize package, including a full album recording contract with ABC and a trip to Nashville, the home of country music, at the finals series staged in Tamworth in January.
